1. Choose the Best DJ Resume Format

DJs do far more than play music at live events. They create sets and playlists, read the crowd, and put on a live performance that delights their audience. A disc jockey resume must show solid interpersonal and communication skills, as well as MIDI and computer skills.

Caution.

A badly-formatted resume is like a tin kazoo.

So—

Use a professional resume layout.

For example a chronological resume is well-respected by hiring staff because it shows your true colors in an easy way.

Use these tips for formatting your resume:

Use these sections in a resume: Header, Experience, Education, Skills, and others like Freelance Work or Volunteer Work.
All resumes need professional resume headers up top with name and title (DJ).
List phone and email address information in a resume below your name, but leave off your street address.
What’s the best font for resumes? There’s no silver bullet, but Helvetica and Cambria are clear and professional.

Pro Tip: When your work is finished, do a resume format PDF download. PDFs stay pristine on all machines. MS Word resumes not so much. (But follow the advice in the job ad first.)

Example: you used customer service skills in a bartending job.
